Description
The Fold-Away turns a home office or den into a guest room in about ten seconds. The queen bed folds vertically into a 18-inch-deep solid maple cabinet; the cabinet face carries a fold-down desk that stays level as the bed comes down, so you do not need to clear it. Two LED reading lights and a pair of USB ports are built into the inside of the cabinet.
The lift uses a dual gas-piston mechanism that balances the weight of the mattress; a child can lower it with one hand and it locks in the raised position. The mattress platform is a solid slatted deck with elastic retaining straps, and it accepts any of our mattresses up to 12 inches tall and 90 lb; we recommend the Haven Gel Memory Foam Queen or the Nook Hybrid Lite. Mattress not included.
The cabinet must be anchored to wall studs; our white-glove team handles installation, which takes about three hours. Available in natural maple, walnut stain and white lacquer.
